Regional Technical Officiating Leader

 

 has bee appointed as the North Regional technical Officiating Officer.  The role and it responsibilities are as as described below:

Purpose & Responsibility

To enable hockey to better recruit, train and reward more technical officials.

To oversee and lead all technical officiating development activity. This responsibility includes outdoor and indoor hockey.

Reporting & Support

Reports to their North Hockey Association Management Committee.

The England Hockey Technical Officiating Development Group (TODG) will provide all necessary support and training resources


Role

To provide leadership by:

• Acting as the focal point between the TODG and the region for all matters concerning the recruitment, training and appointment of regional technical officials.
• Developing and maintaining a list of technical officials in the region with appropriate grades, e.g. Tournament Director, Technical Officer, Match Officials.
• Organise training and assessment opportunities within the regions for new and existing technical officials i.e. with suitably experienced assessors / trainers at local tournaments or matches.
• Making recommendations to TODG of regionally listed technical officials who have the necessary skills to be promoted to the national register and therefore become eligible for national programme appointments.
• Assisting TODG by organising local venues / resources for any local meeting or training opportunity offered by England Hockey.
