Norman Borrett

  Dear All
I am sure you will all be upset to hear of the death of Norman Borrett...

Norman went into hospital in late March for relatively minor treatment and
as a result of tests he was diagnosed with cancer. His death yesterday will
come as shock to everyone, especially as he was playing hockey towards the
end of last season.

He death will have an impact on everyone who knew him, hockey players both
young and old, coaches,  and anyone who came in contact with him.

He has been involved closely with Yorkshire Youth Development, his
integrity, guidance and mentoring have been appreciated by players
throughout the Region.
His involvement in Hockey not only included his love for Ben Rhydding HC but
successfully Managing the County U15 Squad with Ian White as Coach, and then
moving on to Coach, with Ian as Manager, the North East Regional U15 team
that won the Regional Tournament last October.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and many who had not even met
him knowing Norman by his reputation.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday 31st July at 1.30pm at The Sacred
Heart Church, Stockeld Road, Ilkley. LS29 9HD.
Stockeld Road is a right turning off the A65 Skipton Road travelling towards
Skipton from the Ilkley towncentre.

Please pass this information on anyone who you think should be made aware.
Thank You.

Best wishes
Phil Thomas
